Delighted to have 2 of my songs used in this year's Aberdeen Passion on Easter Saturday. "Remember Me" was used for the Last Supper scene and "Why?" was a new song which I composed especially for the crucifixion scene. I'll hopefully post a recording of this new song at some point in the future.
29.Mar.16Update - Satellite Worship
Life continues to be busy but I have been involved in some projects that I haven't got around to mentioning on here...
I've had the privilege of working with David and Yvonne Lyon and a number of other Scottish musicians and songwriters on the Satellite Worship project. This is an initiative, started by David, where a number of Scottish worship song writers have come together to produce an album. My song, "To the Lord of the Heavens" features on the second of those albums, "Church Come Alive." You can download tracks from the Satellite website.
29.Mar.16Songs of Hope
My song "All That You Do" (sung by Lins Honeyman) features on this album of songs put together by New Scottish Arts (and produced by David Lyon) to support the work that Open Doors UK does amongst persecuted Christians around the world.
08.Nov.11Song shortlisted in competition
My song "I will follow" has been shortlisted in the top 5 of the UKCM (UK Christian Music Charts) Songwriting competition. It's great to have songs recognised in this way and a real encouragement for me to keep writing. I should know in couple of weeks if the song gets any further. I'll post a recording of it here soon for you to listen.

27.Aug.07UK Songwriting Contest - Finalist
Three of the songs from "Child of God" (the only three that were entered) fared well in this year's U.K. Songwriting Contest.
"Be Still And Know" was a finalist in the Christian/Faith category and "Everything" was a semi-finalist in the pop category. "Come To Me" was also a highly commended entry in the Christian/Faith category.
Not bad going for a contest that had nearly 5000 entries from amateur and professional songwriters around the world!
14.Aug.07Child of God - Russell's debut album
This album – Russell’s debut – is a blend of strong vocal lead with great melodies and touching lyrics. Each song is memorable, from the title track “Child of God" – a beautiful tribute to his mum who died of cancer in 2004 – to the closing track “Come to me" – an encouragement for people to take serious the promise of Jesus that He will give us rest. There are great ballads like “Everything", which received an honourable mention in the 11th Annual Billboard World Song Contest and was a semi-finalist in this year's UK Songwriting Contest, and “Sometimes", which also reached the semi-finals of the 2005 UK Songwriting Contest. There are also songs communicating Russell’s own faith like “Your Grace is all I need", “For God so loved the world" and “Be still and know" - which was a finalist in this year's UK Songwriting Contest. Other songs on the album are inspired by his family – “Bethany’s Song" and “All you can be".
This is an album which people of all ages will be able to enjoy and appreciate and if you like big ballads and piano based songs then you’ll love it.
